The club is a lawn green bowling club situated in the village of Three Mile Cross, south of Reading. The club was formed in 1938, originally as a bowls and tennis club.
We are affiliated to the Royal County of Berkshire Bowling Association and also to Bowls England.
The club is open on most days between the end of April and middle of September, depending on when competitive matches are being played. We currently have around 100 members, most of whom are playing members but we also have a number of social members.
Each year we hold an Open Weekend for new bowlers to try the game. Full details of this and other news are shown on our website.
The green is widely recognised as one of the finest playing surface in the County. This is exemplified by the number of inter – County games and finals that we are asked to host each year. Although we have teams in both men’s and ladies’ leagues we also have numerous friendly games. For those people who are not too serious about playing in competitive games there are ample opportunities to play in the friendlies or just to come down and have an informal rollup amongst themselves.
Visitors and spectators are always very welcome. We have a licensed bar which is usually open whilst games are being played.
We have a large car park at the rear of the green. Entrance to the grounds is down a lane shared with a garage. A map and full details of how to find us, plus relevant contacts, are also shown on the website.
