Bitton Park Bowling Club was founded in 1940. It is one of the leading Bowling Clubs in Devon, and is situated in Bitton Park, Teignmouth, within easy reach of the English Riviera and Exeter.
2015 marks the Club’s 75th Anniversary, and a number of celebration matches have been arranged. We look forward to hosting the President of Bowls England and her team, Friends of English Bowling, the Barbarians and Bowls Devon. Further details about these games appear in the Fixtures Section.
We have approximately 80 members, covering all ages and abilities, but anyone wishing to join the Club will be very welcome. We enter strong, competitive teams in the Men’s Mid-Devon League, the Men’s Over 55’s League and the South Devon Ladies Bowls League. The Club also participates in County and National Competitions, as well as a full programme of Tourist matches and Friendly fixtures.
We are able to play up to seven rinks on one of the best greens in Devon. Our Green is managed by our own members supported by professional advice from Tim Wakeham of Wakeham Grounds Care.
Our Club House is equipped with a well-stocked Bar which is available for home matches and social events. The new kitchen installed for the 2012 season enables us to provide more substantial refreshments as well as the usual tea and biscuits. We also have spacious men’s and ladies’ changing facilities. For more information, please visit our Touring Teams page.
For many years Bitton Park and The Den Bowling Clubs have played host to the Teignmouth Open Bowls Tournament. People come from far and wide to participate in this event. For more information, please visit our Teignmouth Tournament page.
We invite all beginners to come and have a go. The Club has qualified coaches who hold sessions for anyone wishing to try the game of bowls.
