Byfleet Bowls Club

Byfleet Bowls Club has around 50 playing members and 15 social members. We range in ages from 8 to 80+. We cater for bowlers of all abilities, from absolute beginners to County level. We have a full fixture list of friendly and league matches. We play in mid-week and at weekend from the end of April to the end of September.

We have all the equipment needed for a new bowler to learn the game and we offer full coaching facilities. Coaching is usually on a Tuesday evening in the bowling season but can be organised to suit.

We also have had recent tours abroad. We have been to Spain in 2009 and 2011 and Portugal in 2010. In 2012, we had a slightly different format. We went to Cyprus, where we were based at one hotel in Paphos and played 4 matches against West End Bowls Club in a Friendly Fiesta organised by Personal Touch Holidays. In 2014, we went to Malta to play in another Friendly Fiesta with 80 bowlers from the UK. We took 9 bowlers who made up part of one of 4 teams.

Our team won the event and we also won the Top Man trophy and were 3rd in the Top Lady trophy.In 2016, we returned to Mojacar, Spain where we had our first tour. We had a party of 22, including 7 members of local bowls clubs who joined their friends at Byfleet.

Membership

Like all bowls clubs, we very much welcome new members, whether they have bowled before or are new to the game.

We hold informal sessions every Tuesday evening during the outdoor bowling season. These Tuesdays are our club nights and are open to members and anyone thinking of taking up bowls. Simply come along at 6pm and enjoy some free instruction by qualified coaches, free use of the facilities and find out whether bowls is for you, with no commitment either way.
